A Message From The Director

Hi, my name is Phil Hemming and I am the Producer / Director for SAPOS’s production of ‘Carousel’.

Having near on 25 years experience in the ‘Biz’ I am really looking forward to seeing the final production hit the stage on the 14^th July 2007. Carousel has fond memories for me as I played the role of Billy Bigelow for TCOS 15yrs ago. I know only too well what it feels like, waiting in the wings for the Overture to start.

For near on 6 months now, my talented cast have been rehearsing for that moment and it’s people like you, the audience, that gives them that ‘Buzz’, of course it’s not only the people you see on the stage who have pre-show jitters, it’s the large team of dedicated back stage and back room staff that get it to and without them this production would never get onto the rehearsal room floor never mind the stage! It’s takes mammoth effort from everybody, from the Director to the ladies that make the tea!.

I really do hope you enjoy this production of Carousel, whether you are in the cast or a paying member of our valued audience and I sincerely hope you enjoy my visions that I have tried to transform to the stage.

Being apart of SAPOS is a privilege and even if I succeed into making a few members hobby enjoyable and a few members of the audience ‘wanting more’ I will have succeeded in my job!
